Every year, at the conclusion of the 10 Elements Hip Hop Camp, we organize a massive final jam that encapsulates everything taught during the camp (you can find photos and videos on our Instagram profile). Throughout the camp, we cover all the elements from both technical and theoretical perspectives, while also imparting the core principles of Hip Hop culture.
While people are often aware of these principles, they aren't always put into practice for various reasons. For us—as representatives and instructors of this camp—maintaining consistency and leading by example is crucial; we want to show the participants how these values apply to everyday life and what it truly means to live by them. Our goal is to convey that it is possible to strike a balance that blends fun, knowledge, love, and street-smart entrepreneurship with helping others.
A fundamental principle we strive to instill in the participants is a sense of community, brotherhood, and mutual support—combined with a clear awareness and the determination to positively impact society through our choices.
That is why, this year, we decided to introduce a cash prize for the winners of the open Breaking and Hip Hop freestyle battles, with the stipulation that a portion of the winnings must be donated to a charity of the winner's choice.
We made this decision to demonstrate that Hip Hop culture allows you to have fun and earn money while simultaneously helping your local community. This encourages participants to take the time to learn about, evaluate, and select organizations dedicated to this cause. In doing so, they develop a constructive outlook on people and the future, as well as a genuine understanding that they can take action to change the world. So, here we are to share the choices made by our winners:
