davvero molto interessante, pone l'accento sulla violenza che invade
le strade di NYC, permettendo a molti di noi di capire la grande
differenza che c'è fra la nostra realtà e la realtà delle strade dove
l'Hip Hop è nato, mentre per altri di riviverlo. Altro fattore veramente importante che il libro mette
in evidenza è come l'arte e gli elementi della Cultura HipHop, in
questo caso il writing, possano essere utilizzati in maniera concreta
per combattere degli atteggiamenti negativi.
Inoltre ci mostra come sia possibile, attraverso gli elementi di questa cultura, lanciare dei messaggi che possano aiutare le persone a riflettere su argomenti concreti e che toccano la nostra vita quotidiana come la droga e la violenza.
Il libro è in inglese ma è molto veloce
da leggere, ed oltre a spiegare la funzione dei memorials e la loro
tradizione, racconta anche la storia di molti ragazzi scomparsi
prematuramente e ai quali sono stati dedicati i pezzi che trovate al suo
interno. Non possiamo quindi che ricordare tutti quei ragazzi
appartenenti e non alla cultura che muoiono ogni giorno per la violenza e
la droga che invade le strade del mondo, anche per questo motivo
dobbiamo spingere la Cultura Hip Hop e la conoscenza di Essa, Peace,
Unity, Love and Having Fun.

Stray bullets catch innocent bystanders in crowed streets and crash through apartment windows, killing babies as they sleep. Easy money and guns confer respect, which in turn promotes a kiddie culture of escalating death and despair. Graffiti artists chronicle the senseless destruction of a generation of African American and Latino youth not only in memorial walls but also in vibrant murals depicting anti-drug messages and violent themes.
